ITC Investigates Apple’s Patent Case

August 9, 2011

Patent Assistance Worldwide Thoughts on HTC Evo 4GSo apparently, Apple has convinced the The International Trade Commission (ITC) to start investigating their patent infringement complaints against HTC. If all goes in favor of Apple, their patent suit could potentially stop the sales of all HTC devices like the HTC Flyer, Droid Incredible, Wildfire, and EVO 4G.

In a statement given by the ITC, they said, “The products at issue in this investigation are hardware and software used in a variety of portable electronic devices, including mobile communication equipment.”

What is pretty interesting is that the ITC has the authority to block or ban imports while conducting their investigation. If so, then there could be a halt in production for as much as 45 days, which is the amount of time ITC predicts it will take to complete their investigation.

This patent patent war between Apple and HTC started back in March 2010, when Apple sued HTC for 20 counts of patent infringement, all revolving around the iPhone.
